See Playlist →The US CMA course — short for Certified Management Accountant — is a globally recognised professional certification in management accounting and financial management, awarded by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), USA. The certification signifies that the holder possesses advanced expertise in financial planning, analysis, cost management, decision support, internal controls, and professional ethics — skills valued by top employers across 150+ countries.
To earn the US CMA credential, you need to clear both Part 1 and Part 2 of the US CMA exam, hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, complete two years of relevant professional experience, and maintain an active IMA membership.
Consistent study, structured mentoring, and full-length mock tests are the proven path. Career Compass pairs you with expert faculty, weekly progress reviews, topic-wise drills, and US CMA-level mocks designed to mirror the real exam — giving you the best chance at clearing both parts on the first attempt.
The IMA offers the US CMA exam in three testing windows each year — January & February, May & June, and September & October. You can attempt Part 1 and Part 2 in any order, within any window, based on your preparation.
Yes. You can begin preparing and even appear for the US CMA exams while pursuing your bachelor's degree. However, to receive the official US CMA certification, you must hold a recognised bachelor's degree and complete the required work experience.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is the minimum educational requirement to receive the US CMA certification. Equivalent professional certifications recognised by the IMA are also accepted.
No work experience is required to start the course or attempt the exams. However, two years of relevant professional experience in management accounting or financial management is required to be officially awarded the US CMA designation.
Yes. Students in the final year of their bachelor's program can register for the US CMA exams. You'll just need to submit your degree certificate to the IMA within seven years of clearing the exams.
